Caravel on Wheels is proud to have the support of many Portuguese institutions that helped us is many ways, from supplying or validating our historical contents, to giving us permission to access their premises and much more.
For all this we proudly thank all those that made this project possible!
Next to the Museu de Lisboa for the research we were allowed to make in its databases and the outstanding images we were able to gather, and show you at Caravel on Wheels historical city tour. Museu de Lisboa unites many of Lisbon most famous museums such as Museu de Santo António, Teatro Romano, Casa dos Bicos, Torreão Poente and Palácio Pimenta former known as Museu da Cidade.
Lisbon City Council, Câmara Municipal de Lisboa is another partner we are proud to thank. Responsible for many videos os Lisbon over the years we have incorporated some unique images in our tour.
Caravel on Wheels is a member of Lisbon’s tourism board – Turismo de Lisboa and you can find our tickets available at any Ask me Lisboa sales point and at Turismo de Lisboa. We were also able to acess some of the great footage that ATL visitlisboa has gathered over the years. Turismo de Lisboa is also responsible for two of Lisbon places that we love to visit Lisbon Story Centre and Arco Triunfal da Rua Augusta.
Another important partner was Direcção Geral do Património Cultural, that validated may of our contents and manages some os Lisbon most visited monuments, including Mosteiro dos Jerónimos or Jerónimos Monastery, Torre de Belém or The Belém Tower, Museu dos Coches or National Coach Museum, Museu Nacional da Arte Antiga or the Ancient Art National Museum, The Palácio da Ajuda or National Palace of Ajuda, Panteão Nacional or the National Pantheon.
The Water Museum, managed by Lisbon Water Company – EPAL, as invested in recent years in making many old structures that historically provided water to the city into exciting visits, many with knowledgeable guides. We were able to visit many of these Lisbon secrets and underground tunnels that we show you in Caravel on Wheels tour.
And many other partners have helped us telling theior history as accurately as possible, such as:
Maritime Museum in Belém
Orient Museum or Museu do Oriente
That provide many information about Lisbon churches.
